Hancock County provides the following non-cash benefits to employees: Furnished by the County:

- Health Insurance (Employee premium required)

- $10,000 optional life insurance provided gratis (additional coverage available, paid for by the employee)

- Dental & Vision Insurance for Professional Employees provided gratis

- Dental & Vision Insurance for Service Employees provided gratis upon accumulation of 45 days of sick leave

- Retirement benefits (6% match paid by employee)

- Worker’s Compensation coverage

- Unemployment Compensation coverage

- Participation in Section 125 plan for tax savings on Retirement, 403(B) contributions, FSA’s and some insurance coverages

- 1.5 Personal Leave days per 20 days of employment (15 days minimum for a full year of which four can be used as personal)

Benefits Provided through the County, premiums paid for by the employee:

- Various additional optional insurances including cancer, heart, short and long term disability, hospitalization supplement and accident

- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

- Participation in 403(b) plans through various companies
